We sell about forty things a season, so we can tell you the truth about every one of them: how it runs, what the cloth does after a wash, and how many are actually hanging on the rail in your size.

Seven pieces are in the edit right now. Every one of them has a published size chart of its own, because they were cut to different patterns and pretending otherwise is how a parcel comes back.

No body-type quiz, no algorithm. You tell us the size you already reach for and how you like a thing to sit; we apply what we know about how each piece was actually cut. Add a measurement and we stop guessing altogether.
Nothing is stored on a server. Your answers stay in this browser and you can clear them at the bottom of this panel.

A chore jacket with a deliberately generous armhole so a knit fits underneath without bunching. It softens in about three washes and never really goes back.

- Cut and sewn in a nine-person shop in Montreal.

Everyday Rib Knit

The one in the photograph at the top of this page. A 2×2 rib that stretches to you and relaxes over a day, which is why it is knitted small on purpose.
How it runs Snug — the rib gives, then settles

- 100% extrafine merino, 18.5 micron. Stretches roughly 6 cm across the chest.

- Hand wash cool, dry flat. Do not hang it — the rib will lengthen.
- Made
- Knitted to shape by a family mill in Portugal.

- Size M measures 92 cm relaxed, 100 cm stretched, 64 cm long.

Straight through the body with a dropped shoulder, so the size on the label behaves — it is the shape that is generous, not the sizing. Sleeves are cut a little short by design.

- 110 gsm cotton poplin, woven in Okayama. Crisp, and it stays crisp.

- Cut and sewn in the same Montreal shop as the jacket.

- Size M measures 116 cm around the chest, 68 cm long, 58 cm sleeve.

Wide Work Trouser

A flat-front trouser with a wide, straight leg and a hem long enough to take up. We hem in the shop while you wait on Thursdays; any other day it takes about a week.

- 280 gsm cotton twill with 2% elastane — just enough to sit down in.

- Cold wash inside out. Warm tumble will shrink the leg about 1 cm.

- Sewn in Toronto, four streets from the shop.
- Sample
- Size 32 measures 82 cm at the waist, 28 cm leg opening, 84 cm inseam unhemmed.

Holds a week of vegetables or a laptop and a change of clothes, and stands up on its own when you put it down. Nothing to guess about — it is one size and it fits everybody.

- Recycled nylon with a bonded base. Water beads off it; it is not waterproof.

- Sponge clean. Everything about it survives being overloaded.

Unstructured six-panel with a brass slider at the back, so it covers roughly 54 to 61 cm. If your head is outside that, tell us and we will say so rather than sell you one.

- Brushed cotton twill, unlined, soft crown that packs flat.

- Hand wash. A dishwasher is not a hat washer, whatever you have read.

- Solid brass slider — it will darken with wear and that is fine.

- Sewn in Toronto in runs of fifty.

Wave Vase

Thrown two streets away in a garage studio. Nine were made in this glaze and no two came out of the kiln the same colour, so the one you pick up is the one you get.

Cloth, care and the numbers off the sample

- Stoneware, fired to 1,240 °C, glazed inside so it holds water.
- Care
- Wash by hand. The unglazed foot will mark a bare wood surface.
- Maker
- Thrown by a ceramicist working out of a garage on Vine Avenue.
- Note
- Small pinholes in the glaze are how this glaze behaves, not a fault.

We hang it up. You decide in person.
There is no basket on this site and nothing to pay for. Pick the pieces you want to try, choose a shop and a day, and they will be waiting on a hook with your name on the tag for forty-eight hours. If none of it works, that is a perfectly good outcome.

How we size
One chart per piece, because one chart for everything is a lie.
These are body measurements, not garment measurements — measure yourself, find your row, read across. Where two pieces disagree about what an M is, that disagreement is real and it is printed below rather than smoothed over.
Every size we stock is cut from the same unisex block. There is no men's rail and no women's rail; there is a rail.
