The price and the plan, before we touch anything.

Most trade websites ask you to describe a disaster into a contact box and wait. This one does the opposite: pick the fault, see the honest range and exactly what moves it, then take a two-hour window off the board yourself.

  • A range, not a teaser price. With the reasons it moves.
  • Emergencies are routed out. Gas and fire do not belong in a booking form.
  • Licence, insurance, warranty. Written down, not implied.

Six things that go wrong in a house like this.

Press one and it drops straight into the estimator below, with the right questions already asked.

Step one · the job

Price the job before anyone knocks.

Trades quote in ranges because houses are not identical. So this shows you the range and then shows its working — every answer you give moves the number in front of you, with the reason spelled out.

What is the job?

Step two · the detail

Where is the water coming from?

Reachable pipe work is a different job from pipe work behind plaster.

How fast is it going?

This decides whether it waits for a normal window.

How old is the plumbing?

Older joints rarely come apart the way you hope.

Before you book

Some things should never go in a booking form.

A booking form answers in hours. Gas, fire and live water answer in minutes. So the first question this site asks is whether you should be talking to us at all.

What is happening right now?

Book it

Then take a window and get on with your day.

Nothing here is dangerous, so there is no reason to pay emergency rates for it. Price the job above, pick a window that suits you, and the van turns up inside it.

  1. Price the job so there are no surprises on the day.
  2. Take a two-hour window off the board below.
  3. Send a photo when you book — it saves a visit surprisingly often.

This is a demonstration interface. It cannot dispatch anyone, and it is not a substitute for emergency services.

Take a window off the board.

Two-hour arrival windows, seven days out, with what is actually left in each one. No "someone will call you back to arrange a time".

On the day

Six things happen, in this order, every time.

Pick a window above and these steps take on real clock times. The one that matters is step four — nothing gets done until you have seen the number.

  1. The night before

You get the window and the name

Who is coming, what they are coming for, and how to move it if the day has gone sideways.

  2. 30 minutes out

    On my way

A message when the van actually leaves the last job — not an automatic one sent at 7 AM regardless.

  3. Arrival

    Boots off, dust sheet down

We look before we touch anything, and we tell you where the water and the power are getting shut off.

  4. About 15 minutes in

    The number, before the work

A fixed figure for the agreed scope, on the screen, with the parts listed. If it is more than the range said, you hear why now — not on the invoice.

  5. The work

You get shown the failed part

Photos before, during and after go on the job. If a second visit is needed for a part, that is agreed here.

  6. Finished

    Cleared up, written up

Invoice with the warranty terms on it, photos filed against the property, and the next check-up date if there is one.

Step five, in practice. Access panels get opened, photographed and put back — and the making-good is quoted separately so it never turns up as a surprise line.

The boring parts

Stated plainly, because vagueness is the tell.

Licensed and certified

Plumbing and electrical work is done by ticketed trades, and the licence number sits on every invoice — not just on an "about" page.

Licence NP-0000000

Insured, and you can see it

Liability cover and WSIB clearance, with the current certificate downloadable before anyone sets foot in your hallway.

Liability $2M

Warranty with a length

One year on our labour, manufacturer terms on the parts, and the expiry date printed on the invoice so nobody has to argue about it.

Labour 12 months

If we can't fix it, you don't pay for it

Diagnosis is charged. A repair that does not hold is ours to come back and finish — same job, no second call-out.

Call-out Credited

These numbers are invented. Neighbourhood Pro is a fictional business built by ArrowSpade to demonstrate an interface. A real build would put the actual licence number, the real insurance certificate and the trade's own warranty wording in these four boxes — which is precisely why the boxes exist.
