The placement map
Every licensed centre in Ontario runs to fixed ratios and fixed group sizes for each age band. That means the honest answer to "do you have room?" is a question back: how old will they be, in which month? Little Atlas answers it in front of you rather than by email in nine days.

Add a date of birth above and this becomes a plan instead of a snapshot: the room they start in, the first month it can take them, the exact dates they move up, and the fee at every stage.
Meadow is licensed for fifteen with three educators. A sixteenth child is not a squeeze — it is a fourth educator, a floor-space recalculation and a licence amendment. So we say no, and tell you the month a cohort moves up instead.
Children age out in groups, not evenly. Most of our space appears in the two weeks either side of a cohort transition, which is why the map marks those months rather than making you guess.
Four rooms
Each room is a fixed age band with its own ratio, its own group size and its own educators. Children move up on their own dates, not in one September rush.
Basecamp · infants
Own sleep rhythm, own bottle schedule, own everything. The daily sheet in Basecamp is mostly feeds, sleeps and diapers, logged as they happen rather than reconstructed at 4:00 PM.
Meadow · toddlers
The loudest, muddiest, most physical year. Toilet learning starts here when the child starts it, and the report tells you what actually happened rather than a tidy version of it.
Lookout · preschool
Projects run for weeks, not minutes. Documentation shifts from what was eaten to what was noticed, and the daily sheet gains learning notes alongside the practical log.
Compass · kindergarten age
The last year before school, and the one families worry about most. Compass runs long outdoor blocks in the yard every day the weather allows, and the group keeps the same two educators from September through to the first day of kindergarten.

The thing you open every day
Almost every centre website sells the tour. The product a family actually lives with is the daily report — and it looks completely different depending on which room the child is in. Here is the real shape of each one.

Arrival and collection
A child arrives and a child leaves. Everything else can be recovered from. These two cannot, so they are the only part of the day we automate end to end — and the only part where the app refuses to be polite about it.
A rotating pass in the family app, scanned at the room door. It stamps the exact minute, the adult who did it, and pushes the child into the room's live count so the ratio board on the wall is never a guess.
Only adults on the child's authorised list may collect. Anyone else needs a one-time code generated by a parent in the app, valid for that afternoon only, plus photo identification at the door.
Flagged on the record, on the room screen, on the kitchen ticket and on the outing sheet. A substitute educator sees it before they see the child's name.
Including the first ninety minutes and the last sixty, when reduced ratios are permitted for some age groups but never for infants. The board shows the real number, not the average.

Fees, plainly
What a family pays, and what the space costs to run. Ontario's Canada-wide fee reduction sits in the gap between them for children under six. Most centres publish only the first number; publishing both is the whole point.

The struck-through column is not a discount we invented. It is what a licensed space costs once you pay four rooms of registered early childhood educators properly, cook every meal on site, and hold the ratio through the whole day rather than the average of it. The province's fee reduction closes that gap for children under six; we publish it so the number means something.
